Tewksbury’s Memorial Day Service and Parade will be held on Monday, May 28, 2012.

The Memorial Service at East Street Cemetery will begin promptly at 12:45 p.m.. State Senator Barry Finegold, State Representative Jim Miceli and State Representative Paul Adams will be in attendance, along with local dignitaries from the Board of Selectmen and other Town Boards. We are pleased to announce that U.S. Senator Scott Brown will also be marching in this year’s parade.

Following the Service the people participating in the Memorial Day Parade will march down East Street to the Town Hall and the parade will begin from there at approximately 2pm. We have 7 Marching Bands this year, as well as a number of Shriners Units and lots of floats. Various Town organizations will be marching as well. The parade will continue down Main Street just to the South of the U.S. Post Office.

This year a number of units are being sponsored by various organizations. IRA Nissan, IRA Toyota, Schlott Tire and Lowell Five are each sponsoring a marching unit. Additionally, this year for the first time “This program is supported in part by a grant from the Tewksbury Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency”.

We thank each of our sponsors for their support and look forward to a GREAT day remembering those who have served our Country with honor.

Finally, a number of youngster representing the Friends of the Tewksbury PAC will be passing the bucket to collect money for this upcoming 4th of July Celebration. The Friends of the Tewksbury PAC, Inc. are a 501 C 3 (tax deductible) charitable organization.

As always, we thank the Town of Tewksbury for it’s continued support. Without you, we wouldn’t be able to do what we do.
